VR Musicians
A VR experience where music directly controls gameplay. One player selects songs via Spotify, while the VR player fights through a world that reacts to the music's genre and energy.
Core Concept
The project creates a unique feedback loop between two players:
Experiences a VR world and gameplay for selected song.
Selects songs from Spotify. The choice of genre determines the environment and weapons, while the song energy controls difficulty and spawn rates.
Spotify Integration
We use plugin to interface with the Spotify Web API. This allows us to fetch real-time audio feature data.
- Genre: Triggers scene transitions and weapon swaps including change of visual post-processing (bloom, color grading, etc.)
- Energy: Controls enemy aggression and player health recovery.
Genre-Based Combat
Each musical genre transforms the game into a distinct experience.
Weapon: Violin
Relax gameplay. Health Regeneration. Elegant and paced.
Weapon: Disco Ball
Physics based combat. Roll it like a bowling ball and launch it.
Weapon: Revolver
Tactical shooting. Health regeneration. Moderate pacing.
Weapon: Machine Gun
High intensity. Pure chaos.
Weapon: Baseball Bat
Aggressive combat. Get close.

The game balances risk and reward based on the playlist selection.
